Once the numbing ointment sets in, your provider administers one or two injections. Varithena enters your bloodstream and foams up, treating the desired section of a vein. Afterward, the diseased vein collapses, and your lymphatic system flushes the remaining medication from your body.

What is recovery like following Varithena treatment?

To ensure the best possible outcome, keep your post-treatment bandages dry and wear them for at least 48 hours. You should also wear compression stockings every day for one or two weeks.
